Q How can I instruct Legalitum to collect a debt?

A Using our simple four step system. Just subscribe, select a package, login (or fax us a Legalitum instruction form) and follow the instructions.

Q What information do you require to collect a debt?

A The only info we need to start work and collect your debt is set out in the 'Legalitum' instruction form.

Q Who receives the money from the debtor?

A In the first instance, we do. Naturally we send the funds straight to you once the payment has cleared.

Q Are there any other charges?

A Only if you need to initiate court proceedings. This incurs court fees, payable not to 'Legalitum' but rather to H.M.C.S. (Her Majestys Court Services).

Q My debt is complicated and I'm not sure if Legalitum can help me. Can I contact someone about it?

A Of course, just call us on 0845 330 0237 and ask to speak to one of our legal experts.

Q Do you undertake legal action?

A We can help you initiate the whole process and advise and guide you on the best course of action. However, we do not represent you in court and will not be the claimants in the case.

Q Are there any types of debt you won't handle?

A Not at all, we always help whenever you require debt recovery assistance.

Q Will I lose my customer if I ask you to recover the debt from them?

A There is a chance your business relationships won't be affected. You will need to make the commercial decision whether it's worth your while doing business with your debtor again given their payment history.

Q If I have lost contact with my customer will you track them down?

A Yes. This can usually be achieved simply and easily through 'LegalitumTrace'..

Q Is there a minimum number of or minimum value to the debts that you will collect?

A No - and there's no maximum either. As we do not operate on commission (unless you choose the No recovery - No fee service) we will act to recover a debt of £50.00 with the same vigour and professionalism we would apply to a debt of £50,000.
